Very friendly staff. Good food. The service is fast. Downside is that they were fully booked and we got the impression they wanted out table for another reservation. Still, will definitely return.

We ate in the late afternoon after a hike. It was lovely to find the restaurant open and we went for spag bowl and a pizza both of which were lovely and fresh. Clean and fresh facilities, with a good level of service.

Wonderful small restaurant on the  Road to Queimadas with countryside local dishes which are delicious. It is definitely worth a visit.

Second visit in a month or so!  Took friends, who couldn&acute;t believe how good everything was...smiles on their faces all night!  Manuel is a fantastic host and the food is just amazing.  Go to this charming gem of a restaurant!

Wow - an amazing dinner - the short ribs, Oso bucco, leg of lamb were so amazing. The portions are huge but save room for dessert! Highly recommend - one of the best dining experiences on the island!

We ventured out of Funchal to see some of the Madeiran countryside and to try this restaurant in the hills.We were not disappointed.  It was traditional, with a warm welcome.We were invited to try the local specialties as a starter and these were served Tapas style.  The taste was good.  When then selected to try meals from the wood oven selection, my wife having Kid, our friend steak and myself pork.  Again all were flavoursome,  served as big portions with a good selection of rice &amp; vegetables.  We had no room left for desert, so opted for coffee.A very pleasant lunch at a reasonable price and well worth the trip to try.  We will visit here again.Note.  It can be cooler in the hills, so an extra layer might be necessary.
